Art of consumption

Modern waste may take 1 thousand years to decompose. What if during this time our civilization would cease to exist, and a new one would be formed, that would not find us, but would discover our waste? I wonder what hypotheses the anthropologists of the future could create that would discover what we left behind. Maybe they could view our waste as cultural artifacts or a work of art.
